Oscar Nominee Sentiments Summized
The nominees for the 80th Academy Awards were announced early yesterday morning and the show countdown has begun. Voting won't officially begin until ballots are mailed January 30, so there is still plenty of time for the 5,829 eligible members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to review the nominees.
Here are the sentiment leaders in 4 of the 24 categories.
Best Picture
Atonement and There Will Be Blood are currently tied with the most positive opinions followed closely by Juno. Michael Clayton and No Country For Old Men also have high positive opinions but will they have enough to win the category?
Best Animated Feature
Ratatouille in the lead, but the race is close between nominees Persepolis and Surf's Up.
Best Actor
Daniel Day-Lewis and Johnny Depp are in the lead followed by Viggo Mortensen, Tommy Lee Jones and George Clooney.
Best Actress
Julie Christie is in the lead for the most positive sentiments followed closely by Marion Cotillard and Cate Blanchett. Rounding out the nominees are Laura Linney and newcomer Ellen Page.
